BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Banana River maintenance dredging project is for the removal of about 200,000 CY of material from a 2-mile long and 125 foot wide area of the Banana River channel to restore the depth of the channel to -13.0 feet Mean Water Level (MWL).
The permitted depth is -12.0 feet MWL, plus 1′ allowable overdepth to -13.0 feet MWL.
Currently, the average depth in this section of the channel is 10 ‘ MWL. For hydraulic dredging, the distance to the existing spoil site will be 4 miles to the farthest point, and 2 miles to the closest point to the section of channel to be dredged. Monitoring of the spoil site during and post dredging operations (while the water is drained from the spoil) will be required. A bathymetric survey of the 2-mile section of the channel to be dredged will be provided during solicitation of this work.
TITAN performed quality control management and site safety management for this project. In addition TITAN handled reviewing, scheduling, certifying and managing the submittals through the 3-Phase process of inspection.
