BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Sand was dredged from the channel and deposition basin and subsequently placed along the adjacent beach just west of the west jetty. Maintenance dredging removed up to approximately 45,000 cubic yards of sand from Lake Montauk Harbor. Dredging was required to a depth of -14 feet Mean Lower Low Water plus 2 feet of allowable over depth. The dredged material is greater than 90% sand.

Lake Montauk Harbor is located on the south fork of eastern Long Island, Suffolk County, NY. The harbor opens to the north into Block Island Sound through an inlet stabilized by two jetties.
