BRIEF DESCRIPTION

This dredging project was to deepen the Arthur Kill channel located between Staten Island and New Jersey. Work included the removal of contaminated materials and dispose it at a soil treatment facility for potential reuse. Also, rocks on the river bottom were removed and transported to an offshore area designated appropriate for disposal. Project involved multiple dredges, coordination with all traffic navigating in and out of the channel, and 24-hour work to get the job done.
