BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Philadelphia Naval Reserve Basin Dredging project consisted maintenance dredging and unclassified excavation.

Dredging is located in the Philadelphia Naval Reserve Basin and entrance channel of the Schuylkill River. The scope of work consists of dredging material and debris, consisting of sediment, wood, concrete, steel, miscellaneous and MEC/UXO to MLLW 30ft. Dredging is completed in four acceptance sections.

UXO (unexploded ordinance) Technicians and a federal government furnished Ordnance and Explosive Safety Specialist (OESS) are monitoring dredging operations for Munitions of Explosive Concern (MEC). Dredged material is unloaded from scows and hydraulically offloaded to the Ft. Mifflin disposal site. The material is then run through a sluice to manage effluent densities.

TITAN performed quality control managment. In addition TITAN handled reviewing, scheduling, certifying and managing the submittals through the 3-Phase process of inspection.

Procedures for tracking preparatory, initial, and follow-up control phases; control, verification, and acceptance tests including documentation.

Managing the day-to-day quality control activities

Kept designated personnel and management staff apprised of status of work

Ensured all reports were prepared and submitted in accordance with the QC Plan, including the Daily Quality Control Report and through the QCS/RMS system.

Maintained all the project quality control files.

Reported and logged any work not meeting Spec requirements.

Recorded all data in QCS database.
